You've seen this, right? I started hearing about it this summer from my perennially-ahead-of-the-curve closeted-anglophile jobless friends (you know the type) so my first reaction was of course to dismiss it all as hype and obstinately not watch the thing. The first series came out on DVD a few weeks ago, and I relented and watched it. Hilarious stuff. Brilliant - improv on the level (or perhaps surpassing) of the Christopher Guest ensemble. Gareth Keenan - funniest character in a sitcom ever (i know most people love Brent the most, but Gareth is the most original of the cast).
If you haven't seen it, get the DVDs - they're readily available, and worth owning sight-unseen if you're that type of person. I'd caution against watching more than 2 episodes in a row in one sitting, because it DOES get a bit fatiguing if you try to watch them all at once.
