The last four people to whom I have sent wedding gifts did not sent thank you notes. Is it just me or is this a societal trend? If so, then what should we think about this trend? Should such "leniency" be granted as an acceptable and even necessary "concession" to modernism, a shared sense of global competition in an ever-more complicated and demanding world? In other words, we can keep one step ahead of the Chinese if we let them waste all their time writing thank you notes while we do something advanced with that time. Is this the new and mutually agreed upon arangement?
