How about just precision? If it's not absolutely precise, but only nearly so, just say it's precise and leave it at that. |

Context, please. I mean, if this showed up in meeting notes on a project where the specs for precision were a general range, and one specific element had to be truly precise, and the team was getting close.... |

Half the things that piss me off enough to drive me to the internet are from meeting notes, memos, and jive-ass emails from upper-level management who talk pure smack and get away with it. |

people tack on redundant phrases for the sake of rhythm. next time you can just say, "the failure of that ideology ba-da-dum."

I don't think i added it for rhythm, although I was writing a draft and therefore not really paying much attention. I think what I meant was the failure of the ideology to succeed in practice, vs. the failure of the ideology to persist as an ideology
in any case ba da bing rhythm has to be the mostly weirdly spelled word in the English language |

This is always a worthwhile discussion. I mean, we all accept the ideal of having coffee pumped through the building as part of plumbing system, yet in practice we use those darn tiny pots. |
