I read 'elementary particles' ('atomisation' if you're in the uk) last winter, and just finished 'platform' this morning. would love to talk about one/both of these books. (he has a third called 'whatever' that I'll have to read now.) ...esp in comparison w each other. that would be great. I tried to get a friend to read houellebecq so we could discuss, but after elementary particles he just said it was good but he was too depressed to talk about it.

I might be rusty. out of practice. but I love drawing cartoons & they love me right back. jizake: I suspect people might talk shit about him because he's super misanthropic... has, er, unconventional attitudes about sex/relationships... possibly racist tho he's so misanthropic it's hard to say... has some sharp words for muslims... pessismistic to the point of being maybe sociopathic... but who says novelists have to be nice guys?

I actually like his work. I was describing what some might find offensive about him, not necessarily what I think of him. hell, I barely know the guy. could you ask a longer question maybe?
